My name is Sandra Kay Darnell. I graduated from the University of Maryland's, School of Architecture, College Park, MD in 1992. After leaving college, I went to work for a local county government and became a building plan reviewer; and worked with planning and zoning directors, local developers and county commissioners to assist in the plan approval of many local residential developments. In 1996, I moved to Fairfax, VA and began working in the field as a combination building inspector. I inspected commercial and residential structures. I continued to work as an inspector until 2002, which is when I became a part of the private sector by opening my own company. I owned and operated my own company as an Architect and Land Developer.

Since 2003 I have bought and sold over $4,000,000 in real estate. When the market slowed down, I took some time off to raise my son. Since then, I have become a real estate agent. I am married to a 5th generation farmer, which has helped me to become an expert in farm and equestrian properties.
